Info for GRADUATING STUDENTS

Graduating students should ensure that they are signed up to the Google Classroom (LINK - scroll down) to receive important information & updates throughout the year.
Graduating this year?
There are many things you need to know about graduating; refer to the timeline below. This section will provide you with the information about the post secondary processes by posting the materials handed out at assemblies, newsletters, and by providing important web sites.
Important Websites for Planning:
myBlueprint - this should be your primary planning tool. Make sure you have updated your account (use the same OEN ID & password you use for course selection). Make sure you have 30-credits by looking at the Graduation Indicator in the High School Planner. Complete the Explorations and Learning Styles assessments - they will be used as filters when you click on programs (Apprenticeship, College, or University)
Ontario School Counsellors’ Association - many links to information relating to all pathways in and outside of Ontario: planning for work, employability skills, self-assessment, enrichment opportunities
Visit the Ontario Colleges website to apply to programs and to access Ontario Colleges application instructions
Visit the Ontario University Application Centre to apply to programs and to access Ontario Universities application instructions

Timeline for Grade 12 Students:
September
Visit Student Services - sign freedom of information forms
Information on college and university visits becomes available
College & University info sessions
October
College & University info sessions continue
Students should visit schools they are considering; most schools have open houses
September to December
Make an appointment with Guidance Counsellors to discuss pathways planning
Research information on awards, scholarships and bursaries

February
The Grad Brag Sheet should be completed & submitted (this information is used to help us determine suitability for in-school awards, for writing letters of reference, for knowing where are grads are planning to go next year)
Final semester 1 marks sent to colleges and universities
Students should check for accuracy three days later
Report any problems to Student Services immediately
April
Semester 2 midterm marks are send to colleges and universities: meet the deadlines that teachers assign - there are no extensions

May
VALEDICTORIAN NOMINATIONS: forms available in Student Services
Voting: during Grade 12 Leave a Legacy Day
June
Begin application for the Ontario Student Assistance Program
Final marks are sent to colleges and universities
Students should check for accuracy three days later
Report any problems to Student Services immediately
Pick up your report card the first week of July - it will have a transcript in it so you can verify that you have graduated
Students Graduating or Not Returning:
Students who are not actively registered at ckss (HDSB), or attending HDSB Summer School, or pre-registered for the next school year with HDSB will lose access to the HDSB Network & Halton Cloud (including Google Workspace for Education applications, data, and email).
IMPORTANT: Students should use a personal (non-HDSB) email address for their post-secondary applications to ensure emails are received following graduation.
